New York State's Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act bans most electronics from the regular trash. That includes televisions, computers, printers, monitors, and small home electronics. Most curbside services won't take them. Here's our honest take on when to use us vs. the alternatives. For one or two small flat-panel TVs or monitors, Best Buy and Staples both take them free at their Capital Region stores. Drive them over and save the $129 visit minimum. Where we make sense: you have a big CRT or plasma you can't lift alone (these get $40+ surcharges at the chains), you don't have a vehicle big enough for a 65" TV, you have a household tech cleanout with 5+ devices, or, most importantly, you're an office, school, library, or business with bulk e-waste. For business volume (5+ devices), our flat-rate bulk pricing beats per-item pricing and includes certified recycling routing and optional hard-drive destruction. Working flat-panel TVs and recent-model computers get evaluated for refurbishment through local partner networks. Non-working gear gets dismantled with metals going to a Capital Region scrapper and plastics to certified processors. We do not export e-waste overseas, and we never landfill it.

What we take
  • TVs of every size, including CRT and plasma
  • Computer monitors (CRT and flat)
  • Desktop towers and servers
  • Laptops (with or without battery)
  • Printers, scanners, fax machines
  • Routers, switches, modems, networking gear
  • Stereo receivers, speakers, sound bars
  • VCRs, DVD players, Blu-ray, cable boxes
  • Gaming consoles and accessories
  • Small kitchen electronics (microwaves, etc.)
  • Cables, power supplies, peripherals
What we don't
  • Smoke detectors with sealed radioactive sources. Take to HHW.
  • Industrial UPS batteries. Call us, we'll point you to a recycler.
  • Anything leaking or visibly damaged with battery rupture. Needs specialty handling.

How it goes

The electronics recycling process.

We pull up, label your e-waste pile on the truck (so the recycler can count it), and roll out. Pickup at your door. No carrying it down to the curb. If you need a Certificate of Destruction for hard drives (businesses often do), ask before the job and we'll arrange physical destruction at our recycling partner.

Pricing

Electronics Recycling pricing.

Single CRT or plasma TV pickup: $149 (NY e-waste law). For one or two flat-panel TVs or small monitors, drop them at Best Buy or Staples free. That's our honest advice. Household tech cleanouts (5+ devices) fit in the 1/8 truck ($159) or 1/4 truck ($239) tier. For offices, schools, and libraries: bulk e-waste pickup starts at $199 flat for 5 to 15 devices, $349 for 16 to 50 devices.

FAQ

Common questions.

How is the price calculated?
By volume, not weight. We charge by how much of the truck you fill, from a single item ($129) up to a full 15-yard load ($549). Pricing is on the Pricing page so you know what to expect before we show up.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. No trip charges, no fuel surcharges, no stair fees, no 'heavy item' fees. The quote we give is the price you pay. We get this question a lot because some of the national chains aren't transparent about this.
How do you compare to 1-800-GOT-JUNK and College Hunks?
We're typically 10 to 15% cheaper for the same volume, and we don't hide the prices. We're a small local outfit. Lower overhead means a better rate for you.
Can you come the same day?
Often yes, especially if you book before noon. Tuesday through Friday tend to have the most same-day slots open. Use the quote form and we'll text you confirmation within a couple of hours.
What if I just have one or two things?
Single items welcome. Our minimum charge is $129. That covers one couch, one mattress, one fridge, plus whatever fits around it. No trip charge.

Why us

The honest side-by-side.

Worth knowing before you book. We're not always the cheapest, but we're the most predictable. Surprise charges are how people end up hating hauling companies.
